Hursley wins 2015 Tcl Curved Tv Stakes Listed $150,000 at Flemington (VIC) 3yo, 1800m.
Hursley put up a good effort to score. He settled towards the tail of the 15-horse field, improved between runners from the 800m and tracked-up (wide with cover) rounding the home turn. He switched out at the 400m, hit the front at the 150m and went on to win in good style, handling the Heavy8 track well. I was also a very good ride by Craig Williams.
Sea Of Tranquility went back from his outside barrier (15), was near last early on before moving up (deep) as the pace slackened to be about fifth (wide out) at the 900m. He joined the leaders at the home turn, went to the front at the 400m and fought well for a very good second after working most of the way.
War Legend was remained in last place to the 800m before improving (wide with cover) from the 600m. He under riding on straightening but kept running on, steadily making ground for a sound third, looking suited to further still.
Favourite Bengal Cat settled about seventh (wide with cover) and then got a good trail into the home straight. She looked a threat when she challenged at the 300m but battled from that point to finish (4.5 lengths) fourth.
