Lake Geneva wins 2015 Crockett Stakes Listed $120,000 at Moonee Valley (VIC) 3yoFillies, 1200m.
Lake Geneva began quickly and then eased to settle in sixth place (three deep with cover), following a solid tempo (first 600m 34.90). She fanned deep coming to the home turn, dashed to the front at the 100m and fought back well for a narrow but impressive win.
Valley Sweetheart travelled nicely in fourth place on the rails, pushed into clear running on straightening and was a late-closing second, putting up a smart effort at only her second race start.
Favourite Serene Majesty settled in eighth place (three wide with cover) from barrier nine. Was under pressure from the 600m but kept responding, making ground in the straight to finish a close-up third.
Northern Model was last in the ten-horse field to the 600m and made good ground in the closing stages to finish (2.3 lengths) fourth.
