Kisses wins 2015 Rich Hill Stud Breeders Stakes NZ$80,000 at Hawera (NZ) Fillies & Mares, 1400m.
Kisses jumped fairly and was allowed to settle before moving up to fourth, down the back straight. Before the home straight she found room and got off the rails in behind the leaders. With a huge gap, she accelerated, three off the inside and lodged her challenge to favourite Recite, who fought for a few strides but was not able to withstand Kisses’ finish, for a nice win.
Recite put herself in the race at the 1000m by camping outside the two leaders around the corner and into the straight, where she edged up to lead and looked to clear out. She maintained a solid gallop and gave the winner some fight but could not pull out any more, holding second comfortably.
Miss Foxwood was wide around the turn and upon straightening, tried to get alongside the leaders but was no match, fighting on fairly for third.
