The Messina Nymph jumped well to take the lead from her wide draw and found the rails only to be outsped by Sandhill Flash. She sat in the trail until the home straight but as they balanced up Sandhill Flash established a handy break. The Messina Nymph gradually levelled but Sandhill Flash fought back and these two settled down for a decent battle. With the post in sight The Messina Nymph pulled clear but only in the last 50 metres, for a solid win.
Eclair Choice was never near the fence and made his run widest on the track to grab third, almost catching Sandhill Flash on the line.
Karacatis was handy into the straight but could not accelerate with the others around him, battling past the rest to hold fourth.
