Amralah wins 2015 Penang Trophy Listed $100,000 at Morphettville (SA) 3yo+, 1800m.
Amralah took up a handy spot just behind the leaders down the back straight and rounding the turn maintained his position, off the rails in fourth. Before the home straight, he cruised up, three wide, to be level with the pace and once they balanced up he took over, driving clear with 200m to run and in no danger whatsoever, for a commanding win.
Back On Target settled second last and had just one behind him at the 800m. As the field straightened Back On Target was still in second last place but very wide and getting into his work. By the 100m he had surged past the all but the winner and kept up a strong gallop to the line.
Pelicano was last all the way to the home straight, tracking Back On Target and just as wide. He could not go with Back On Target but had sufficient momentum to pass those who were getting tired for a good but well beaten third.
Letmedowngently made a run rounding the turn but could not pass the leaders and looked beaten only to find a little more over the last 100m to hold fourth.
