Four-year-old Setinum was a surprise first-up winner. He was eased from his wide barrier (10) and settled just beyond midfield (wide with cover). He switched deeper rounding the home turn, got to sixth at the 200m and kept running on well to score a good first-up win, his third win in nine starts to date.
Former WA trained mare Platinum Rocker travelled well in seventh place, wide with cover. She put in a run to challenge at the 200m and battled on nicely for second, her second such placing this preparation.
Favourite Yesterday's Songs settled near last in the 15-horse field from his wide barrier (12). He switched across heels at the 300m but was in restricted room from that point and looked unlucky in finishing third.
Late Charge was 12th to the home turn and ran on well (wide out) for fourth, beaten just over a length.
