Bewhatyouwannabe had a good trip, sixth one off the rails, following a solid pace (first 1000m 59.77). He improved (wide) rounding the home turn got to the front on passing the 200m and then fought back well to win by a neck.
Epic followed the eventual winner racing in eighth place, one off the rails. He made a quick move, going deep at the home turn, got to second at the 100m and kept fighting on nicely for (neck) second.
Trakstar was back in tenth place, fanned deep at the home turn and made good ground for a close-up third.
Favourite Neo looked to have every chance. He raced in fourth place, one out and one back, put in a run at the 300m and then battled on for (2.3 lengths) sixth.
