Sabatini wins 2015 Polytrack Angus Armanasco Stks Group 2 $200,000 at Caulfield (VIC) 3yo Fillies, 1400m.
Classy filly Sabatini scored a very good win, her fourth in eight starts. She began well from her inside barrier (1) and settled nicely in fifth place on the rails, following an average tempo. She improved between runners rounding the home turn, Nick Hall then got her into clear running and she challenged strongly at the 200m. She hit the front at the 100m and went on to win in good style by a length.
Fontein Ruby led the field to the 200m, was headed passing the 100m and fought back well to gain second in a photo.
Samartested raced outside the leader (Fontein Ruby), challenged at the 200m and kept fighting on for a close-up third.
Bottle Of Smoke was back in eighth place, one off the rails, fanned deep rounding the home turn and made good late ground in the sprint home for a sound (2.6 lengths) fourth.
