Greatwood wins 2015 Pacific Hoists Parramatta Cup Listed $125,000 at Rosehill (NSW) 3yo+, 1900m.
Greatwood, having his second run this preparation,nappreciated the step-up to 1900m to win here. He went straight to the front, travelled well at a good tempo but briefly looked beaten when headed at the 100m but he fought back strongly to win by half a length in a good staying effort.
The favourite Burbero raced in sixth place, one off the rails. He moved up strongly at the 300m and looked the winner at the 100m but was out-stayed, in attempting to win for the first time beyond 1600m, and battled on for (half length) second.
Diametric settled nicely in fifth place on the rails, got between runners to challenge at the 200m and then fought on for a close-up third.
Scream Machine was seventh on the rails to the home turn and ran on fairly well for (3.1 lengths) fourth whilst Black Jag held on for (3.4 lengths) fifth after racing outside the leader most of the way to the home turn.
