Neverland wins 2015 Make Your Own Magic-Challenge Listed $100,000 at Ascot (WA) 3yo, 1500m.
Three-year-old filly Neverland maintained her unbeaten record, albeit narrowly here in recording her third win. She raced in sixth place, one off the rails, behind a steady tempo. She was under riding as the pace increased at the home turn but responded very well in closing stages to grab a narrow but impressive win.
Palace Intruder was fifth on the rails, switched out on straightening and finished well in the sprint home for a close second, putting up a good effort.
The favourite Delicacy, stablemate of the winner, settled in fourth place, one out and one back. She put in a quick run to take the lead at the 200m and looked the winner, only being overhauled nearing the post for a close third.
Tonto made ground from near last in the 11-horse field to finish (2.3 lengths) a promising first-up fourth.
