Real Charm wins 2014 Starstruck Classic Listed $100,000 at Ascot (WA) 3yo+ Fillies & Mares, 1600m.
Classy mare Real Charm made it three wins in succession with an easy victory here. She travelled comfortably in fourth place, one out and one back, got a split at the home turn going to third on straightening. She dashed to the lead half-way down the straight and went on to score in easy fashion by two and a half lengths. She is a smart mare that should prove effective if taken on an eastern states campaign.
Antique Belle raced behind the leader (Miss Rose De Lago), got the better of that mare at the 200m before battling on for a sound second.
Vampi Lass was back in ninth place on the rails, saved ground between runners on turning for home, went to fourth at the 200m and battled on to take third while the top weight (59kg) Miss Rose De Lago led until reaching the 300m before finishing (4.5 lengths) fourth.
