Choice wins 2014 Lawnmaster Eulogy Stakes Group 3 NZ$70,000 at Awapuni (NZ) 3yoFillies, 1600m.
Choice settled third last in a compact field of 12 – following the late scratching of No Tricks. Improving one off the rail to seventh at the 800m, Choice tracked into the clear widest on straightening. She quickened with an ominous run and worked away over the concluding stages to win comfortably.
Travelling on the inside of the leader, Mia’s Choice, Attention Seeker pushed on to a one length advantage in centre track at the 400m and although without an answer to the challenge of the winner she kept on strongly for second.
The favourite, Palace Rock, was camped behind the leaders in fifth and although squeezed from a gap between Choice and Attention Seeker at the 200m it appeared third was always going to be her lot.
From three places back on the inner, Outspoken worked through on the inner for fourth as the field fanned wider on the slow footing.
