Zennista wins 2014 Sofitel Luxury Hotels Stakes Group 3 NZ$70,000 at Ellerslie (NZ) , 2000m.
Zennista enjoyed a nice run in second position one off the fence about two lengths from the leader Bechtolsheimer. The race was run at a sedate pace in the middle stages with Mark Du Plessis improving Zennista’s position to be on the quarters of the leader approaching the home turn. She quickly asserted at the top of the straight but Abidewithme swept up on her outside momentarily hitting the front before she fought back to score a narrow victory. A good tough win despite having a good run in the race.
Abidewithmecame from second last one off the fence with a trail. She over-raced in the middle stages before commencing a three wide move from the 700m She cornered for home four wide and quickened up well in the straight hitting the front at the 200m before slightly dying on her run to finish a narrow second.
