Chautauqua wins 2014 Gilgai Stakes Group 2 $200,000 at Flemington (VIC) 3yo+, 1200m.
Chautauqua broke away cleanly and was held up towards the rear in the early stages by Dwayne Dunn.
It was Bounding who made the running early, from Temple of Boom, who was away from the stalls very well. As the latter began to fade, the winner loomed up on the outside of Bounding and took it up in the shadow of the clock
tower, with very little effort required from Dunn to find the change of gear. The gelding raced away decisively to score by four lengths, while Final Crescendo stayed on well from the rear to claim third.
