Gamblin' Guru kickstarted a huge day for the MacDonald stable with a win in the Chairman's Stakes.
Gamblin’ Guru scored a strong win in a tight three-way finish.
In the run he settled down in eighth position three back on the fence. He stayed to the inside on cornering and quickly took the lead before edging out four or five horses off the fence. He battled on strongly to score a good but narrow win.
Excites Zelady raced in third position behind the leader. He travelled strongly approaching the home turn where he pushed out into the clear to challenge the leader. He battled on resolutely in the straight to only narrowly go under, a good effort.
Gravitational raced on the back of the winner. He switched across heels in the straight to be brought with his run on the outside, staying very well to finish a close third. He should be suited by a step up in distance.
