Se Sauver continued her rapid rise through the grades with a narrow win at Flemington.
Se Sauver scored her first Metropolitan success in Group Two class here after winning a Pakenham maiden only two starts ago.
She travelled nicely in eighth place one off the rails before moving up three wide from the 600m, following the favourite (Politeness). She challenged nearing the 200m and then fought gamely to win by the narrowest of margins.
Star Fashion had a good run sixth between runners to the turn. She gradually worked into clear running at the 200m and then fought on nicely for a very close second.
Solicit was last in the 11-horse field to the 600m point. She went to the extreme outside on straightening and then ran on well for a very good third, beaten a length.
Fantome Gris raced near the tail of the field, was pushed back to last at the 300m and then ran on late wide-out for a good fourth.
The Anthony Cummings-trained Wordplay travelled well in about ninth place, between runners, to the turn. She was blocked in the early part of the straight, got into the clear at the 200m and then battled on for fifth.
Politeness was trapped three wide without cover most of the race, challenged at the 300m but her early efforts then told and she weakened for seventh, beaten just under three lengths.
