Brisbane Best: Ipswich – 15th June 2019

Godolphin head to Ipswich’s biggest race day on Saturday with two runners and both look winning chances.

The best of the pair is Organza, who lines up in the final race on the card, the Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m).

The four-year-old looks to have a sense of timing and comes into this third up after placing at both runs this time in.

She kicked off her campaign with a Listed placing in the Dark Jewel at Scone before covering ground but still chasing well for second at Randwick three weeks back.

That run will have brought her to her top and she is drawn much closer to the fence so should secure a better run in transit.

Organza has yet to miss a place at this distance range with three wins and five placings from eight attempts and looks ready to salute with Larry Cassidy in the saddle.

Her stablemate Gaulois looks an each way proposition one race earlier, the City Of Ipswich Eye Liner Stakes (1350m).

The gelding was an eye-catcher first up, settling last in a field of 12 before being held up for much of the straight but rattling late for third at Doomben over 1200m.

That run will have brought him on and he races well second up, yet to miss a place from five attempts.

He should also relish the extra 150m having won twice and placed three times from seven tries at the distance range.

Gaulois gets the services of in-form hoop Michael Cahill and should be strong again at the business end.
