Another day of G1 action with the running of the Goodwood at Morphettville.
We’ll leave that tough race alone and take to a former European mare in the Centaurea Stakes.
Clearly came to Australia not having a huge record but her two runs here have been good.
She battled away at Caulfield and then really hit the line from back in the Queen Of The South Stakes when badly held up.
Off that she seems certain to get the mile and a quarter and Damien Oliver stays up which can only be good in his current form.
The 5yo mare will be back but attacking the line given she won’t be all that far away in the field of ten.
Onto the Proud Miss where Princess Of Queens was thrown in the deep end first up by running in the G1 Sangster Stakes. She found a good spot in running it must be said.
However coming to the turn she needed a run and from the 400 to the 200 (the most critical part of any race when going their fastest) she was held up.
Jamie Kah stays on the mare and she can sit on the speed here. This company is much more her go and important to note she was $17 to $11 late in the betting two weeks ago suggesting she was going well.
She has 14 ratings points on the rivals yet only gives away 1.5kg at the SW&P scale.
