The traditional Oakbank Easter carnival is on even though the actual races have changed significantly.
In a race where there looks good tempo and a few who could make a move, going for one to be the last horse on the scene in the Country Cup.
Ocean Walzer may well need some more ground but love that he goes first up at the 1900m.
He got some nice confidence in the Spring including wins in two states and now tries a third.
Both the stable and owners are having a nice trot at present and this is hardly strong company even if some are in good form.
Expecting he may be midfield and having the last shot at the front runners and could be nice odds.
There might be some value in the running of the Oakbank Cup as Temps Voleur looked to redeem his form just last week.
He liked to lead in his races and on big days that can often be a positive. Now getting to this trip he will run better with the claim too.
He’s probably taken a while to get fit but that race behind A Shin Rook was lengths better than this one.
There are a few in this who would likely be more a chance over the sticks earlier in the day so he may catch them on the hop (or not as it were).
