Brisbane Best : Doomben – 20th April 2019

In-form mare Mishani Vaidra looks well-placed to kick punters off on the right note at Doomben on Saturday.

Mishani Vaidra lines up in the day’s opener, the Bernie’s Produce Benchmark 90 over 2200m.

The four-year-old is racing in great heart, kicking off her campaign with back-to-back wins before stepping up in grade to the Toowoomba Cup a fortnight ago.

On that occasion she settled back as usual and ran on well out wide for a 1.6L third.

She finds an easier assignment on Saturday and while she has yet to try this trip her strength late in her races suggests she will run it right out.

Mishani Vaidra has a good record at Doomben with two wins and two placings from four attempts and doesn’t look badly off at the weights after Baylee Nothdurft’s 2kg claim.

The Big Difference Consulting Benchmark 75 (1615m) later in the program looks an open affair but Dansez does offer each way appeal.

The Kelly Schweida-trained mare was a big improver last start when she pushed Le Juge to a close second at this course and distance with that galloper franking the form by winning again since.

That was the four-year-old’s first attempt at the mile and she was jumping 400m in distance so expect she will be better prepared for the distance fourth up.

Dansez is drawn low and should receive a good run in transit which brings her right into the contest.
