There is some chance our best could well end up having defeated the Australian Derby winner during this prep.
All Hard Wood first up came from back in the field to beat home Declarationofheart at Sandown.
He does run well resuming anyway but it was a top win and another month between runs is such a positive given that fresh record.
If anything the added ground is just more of what he needs. Much prefer him running here than at Mornington where he was also nominated.
Onto the last where Cosmic Alert run second up from a lovely low draw.
He enjoyed getting out in trip last Spring so beginning at the 1300m and now 1400m is what often works nicely.
He can sit where he did last start off gate two and that worked well. The filly will be fitter for that run and should only be improved.
