Brisbane Best: Eagle Farm – February 2

Talented sprinter Acqume finds another race to suit at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The Toby Edmonds-trained mare lines up in the Girls Day Out Raceday Class 3 over 1200m.

Acqume overcame a slow start to score a win at Gold Coast over 900m last outing and she should appreciate the step up in trip with her other two wins coming at this distance.

Prior to that she competed at the spring carnival in Melbourne where she was beaten only 2.3L in a Listed sprint down the Flemington straight, which is good form for a class 3.

She has been freshened since her last appearance but races well that way and has been kept up to the mark with a trial.

A wide draw is a possible concern but if Ryan Maloney can get her somewhere near the rail she looks a strong wining chance.

Malvern Estate will enjoy a drop in grade when he lines up in the TAB Open Handicap over 1200m.

He took on the Magic Millions Sprint last start where he was forced to race four wide so the effort to finish only 2.8L away had merit.

He looks much better placed here and should be ready to show his best having two wins and a placing from three previous third up attempts.

Mark Du Plessis sticks with him and should be able to secure him a much easier run in transit to give him every chance to win.
