The Melbourne Mail - January 26

Australia Day weekend signals that the late summer autumn features are just around the corner with features at Moonee Valley and Caulfield.

Our best for the weekend comes up on Saturday at Caulfield where the Darren Weir-trained Social Spin looks to continue on his upward spiral this campaign in race six.

He built on a great platform to a peak last time out and that peak leaves him extremely well placed against a skinnier looking field at Caulfield.

There are improvers against him but little in the way of exposed form that can match the figure he produced last time or the potential figure that his upwardly mobile profile suggests he might produce on Saturday.

Off a hot maiden Goldifox may tempt some but Social Spin looks a 'one out in the quaddie' job.

One race prior, the fillies heat of the Blue Diamond Prelude, a nice little each way option rears it's head.

Peter and Paul Snowden bring down not one but two debut winners from Sydney and they have scary looking profiles for the race. But they don't have ratings head and shoulders above what Pretty Brazen  produced just two weeks ago at Flemington and that recent run, combined with a good draw, leave her looking very likely to run another strong race at Caulfield.

Quotes heading towards double figures don't seem to do her very good debut justice and we are more than happy to have her running for us at those prices.
