Brisbane Best: Doomben – November 17

Smart sprinter Tyzone can add to his good fresh record when he makes his return to the track at Doomben on Saturday.

Tyzone takes on the Radio Tab Keith Noud Quality, a Listed race over 1200 metres.

Tyzone has done a great job since joining the Toby Edmonds yard earlier this year, winning his first two outings for the stable, one at this course and distance.

He then stepped up stakes company for two good performances, missing by just a nose in the Eye Liner Stakes before a close third in the Ramornie Handicap at Grafton.

Spelled after that, Tyzone has been targeted at this race fresh and races well that way three wins and a placing from four first up attempts.

He has a great strike rate at this distance – winning seven of 13 starts – and should be ready to fire fresh off two good trials, winning the latest.

The in-form Trois Choix has each way appeal in the last race of the day, the Pullman Brisbane Airport Benchmark 90 over 1630 metres.

The mare may be a seven years old but she is racing as well as ever for David Vandyke.

She put together back to back wins over a mile at Sunshine Coast in September - one in open company – to give her a 50 per cent strike rate at this distance.

Freshened after that, she was more than a month between runs when beaten narrowly into third at this course and distance last start.

Expect she will be improved by that run and the step up in trip is also in her favour.

It is a big field with plenty of chances but Trois Choix offers decent each way value and looks a strong chance for a top three finish.
