Best From The West - September 15

The Adam Durrant trained How To Fly failed to really fire fresh, but more than happy to stick with her in the fifth event at Belmont.

Only lightly raced, How To Fly came a long way in her maiden preparation, placing in six of her seven starts including three wins.

She continued to raise the bar and did win three of four attempts over this trip.

In her return (5-2F) she never really came into contention, though she wanted to lay inwards in the straight and happy to forgive that performance.

On her best form she is certainly well placed and we are getting a decent price sticking solid.

The Wizard continues his association with mare (placed 3/5) and although likely to get back from the wide draw, she should prove hard to hold out late.

Better than 3-1 is being offered about her chances which appears a more than worthy gamble, have her marked 6/4.

We saw last week with Battle Torque that it can be profitable to forgive a good horse one bad run, happy to suggest this can be the case again with How To Fly.

Sticking with the Adam Durrant stable in the next event, siding with Reveille.

An eye catcher late first up behind Prize Catch, Reveille went on to only be narrowly beaten behind Peppijack last start.

She should be right at her peak racing third up and is sure to appreciate getting back onto firmer footing.

The Wizard sticks aboard and while she hasn't won for some time (497 days), she is well set up here to run well.

Her racing pattern is low percentage, but she should looks to have a bit on these and with even luck she should prove very hard to beat.
