Kratos To Resume A Winner At Kranji

Kratos looks hard to beat when he returns in the Kranji Stakes C (1000m) in Singapore on Friday night.

The talented four-year-old gelding was very good last campaign, winning two of his three starts and running a narrow second to Elite Star on the other occasion.

Kratos was very good when winning first up last campaign and all three previous victories have come over 1000m and on the Polytrack which bodes well for him today.

The Cliff Brown-trained runner does go up in grade on what he faced last campaign however should be ready to fire today fresh and looks the one they have to beat.

Has not drawn the best in barrier 10 today but has the early speed to push forward forward and expect Michael Rodd to use that to his advantage and settle in the first couple.

Still relatively lightly raced, Kratos should have come on since he was seen last campaign and this look a nice race for him to resume in.

Flak Jacket is not often seen on the Polytrack but ran on well last start to finish fourth in a Class 2 on the turf last start (1200m).

Drops back to the 1000m off a slight freshen up and despite a long time between wins now his form has been fairly consistent and no reason he can’t make his way into the finish.

Likely to find himself in the second half of the field from the good draw but will be getting to the line strongly and is one to keep an eye on late.

The resuming Red Dawn also shapes up as a danger despite probably looking for a bit more ground than the 1000m on offer today.

The six-year-old has not tasted victory for almost a year but form was solid enough last campaign and he looks to have come back in good order with a handy trial behind Lim’s Cruiser late last month.

Red Dawn possesses a very handy first up record winning two of his four and placing on the other two occasions for a strong profit on turnover.

Will need to be at his best to get past Kratos but expect a strong showing and for him to be right in the finish.

Good luck!
