Two last start placegetters can enter the winner’s circle at Rosehill on Saturday.

The first is Eusebio who contests the Owners Forum @ Royal Randwick Benchmark 88 Handicap (1500m).

Eusebio has found the line nicely in each of his two runs back from a spell, the latest when third to Voilier over seven furlongs at Randwick.

The run returned a Timeform rating of 102, still three pounds shy of a master figure achieved when winning the Canberra Guineas (1400m) as a three-year-old last autumn.

With added fitness third run from a spell, the son of Benfica can bridge the gap to that Guineas rating which also came third up.

The race has some depth to it however that said, Eusebio has the greatest sense of timing about him.

The feature race of the day is the Listed Carrington Stakes (1400m).

Imported gallopers Endless Drama and George Patton each sit high in the market despite resuming over 1400m off generous spells.

The Kim Waugh-trained Oxford Poet at double figure odds is worth consideration.

The flashy chestnut placed on resuming in the Takeover Target Quality (1200m) at Gosford.

He stuck to his task well and will be fitter second up.

Ahead of Oxford Poet on that occasion was Supreme Effort who he now meets 1kg better at the weights.

Oxford Poet strikes a race on Saturday where he is one of only two horses in the field who can boast being in form, inside the handicap and having some fitness under their belt.

As honest as they come his second up, course and distance credentials, not to mention a solid partnership with Blake Shinn, all point to the seven-year-old running a race second up in the Carrington Stakes.
