Not a day of big fields early at the two Morphettville tracks on Saturday but there may be a bit more value later.
We are prepared to give Jim's Journey another go after not having best luck second up. He did win impressively first time out and that may have flattened him a touch.
The 2000m of the Birthday Cup is a nice progression on his way to an Adelaide Cup and give his form at the end of last campaign, that isn’t a target too far-fetched.
He did look like he needed galloping room and was getting none of that off gate one through the whole race two weeks back.
There will be admirers for several in this race and happy to take the odds each way today on the four year old if we can get them.
Onto the last where Burnro needs one thing and that is to steer clear of wet tracks.
His poorest efforts have come on slow and worse surfaces. It seems that won’t be the case on Saturday.
His dry track runs prior to the start of the new year were very good including a couple of wins with one here.
Coming from around midfield, he’ll look to peel out and make a launch into the straight rather than taking off early.
We should get great double figures about him.
