Say From SA - October 10

It is Hill Smith Stakes day at Morphettville and that race threw up 2 Derby winners in the last decade with Kibbutz & Rebel Rader running over the 1800m.

We will touch on that race later but before that it was hard not to impressed by the way Jose Wales won at Ballarat and so he runs in a winnable three year old contest on Saturday.

The son of Hard Spun sat on the speed and ran away by over three lengths.

Dean Yendall sticks on him and with a stack of recent winners engaged, we could easily get better odds than expected.

Have to like the form of horses who put gaps on rivals and they often thrive into the three year old season.

We lost the great Zabeel last week but his daughter Zasorceress is now getting to middle distances and ready to show her wares.

She was slowly out last start and was planted wide so eased to be last. Pulling widest on the turn, she had to make a very long run.

Still six lengths away at the 400m, she flashed home late to just miss the placings. Another furlong in the Listed Hill Smith Stakes and she will be great each way value.

These Zabeels only improve over ground.
