More Energy has been racing in very good form of late and looks well placed when lining up at Doomben on Saturday.
Having won his last two starts, the Chris Anderson-trained runner goes up in trip on his last start win at this course over 2020m and is sure to take plenty of beating once again.
Having drawn wide again today, More Energy is likely to get back in the run like he has the last two outings and Glen Colless remains on board today.
The five-year-old gelding rates well on his last start effort and tends to run well here at Doomben.
The extra trip is a slight concern but he was not too far away at this C/D earlier in the preparation and in a race like this can certainly get the job done.
The current price of $3.10 looks a good price for a horse in form although would not take anything under $2.80.
Later in the day a competitive field will line up in the last on the program with plenty of runners in good winning form.
Vienna Royale has returned in very good order for the Tony Gollan stable putting two wins together before getting nailed on the line by Le Val at this C/D last time out when runner up.
Apprentice jockey Alannah Fancourt remains on board and claims 3kg here and from the good draw should push forward and settle on the speed with ease.
The current price of $7.50 looks a very good each way bet for a horse with his form and if he runs up to his last stat effort he will be right in the finish again.
Lesley’s Choice and Le Val shape up as the main dangers, both coming off winning form however Vienna Royale looks to be overs and certainly worth a bet.
Last week saw the first bet of the day Shotover River salute whilst the second bet of the day Zaha’a Ace finished second.
Bet of the day: Race 4 #3 More Energy @ $3.10
Each way play: Race 8 #9 Vienna Royale @ $7.50
