Anyone who manages to get through the card at Flemington on Saturday doing the form for these fields will have as much hair left as Jordan Spieth.
We’d all hope to have his monetary value the same following the races at headquarters it must be said.
He is a star and we hope another can win Race 2.
Star Stealer runs down the straight in the Creswick Series Heat 5 and he ran so well the fortnight earlier.
He put himself into the race and was only a head away from a pretty nice horse in Husson Eagle.
No doubting this is a competitive three year old race but he’ll be fitter for that and just hoping the inside gives him the run into the finish. It was more or less where they came in that lead up race.
Harry Coffey did win on him at Morphettville back in October so already has a feel for the son of Time Thief.
Later on Nadeem Lass looks value in the Takeover Target Tribute race. (Check out the Racing and Sports Weekly Magazine from Friday afternoon onwards to see some great Takeover Target video memories.)
This mare was beaten under a length two weeks back coming from near the rear around the turn.
She charged in the final furlong and goes close to winning if it had been much longer.
While she does stay at 1100m, Katelyn Mallyon has options from the draw and we’ll be hoping she tracks the speed home.
The form through Hazard has been standing up and many of her best runs are reserved for Flemington even if not getting the prize previously.
She’s a nice each way gamble.
