Say From SA - May 23

No luck last week and with the carnival over now, the class isn’t there to help us as we return to the Parks track.

Held Hostage ready to win now Picture: Racing and Sports

But we’ll push on and instead of drinking some alcohol to get over that, we’ll tip it at some value as the better of our two plays.

In the best race of the day, Alcohol comes off a good second charging home to miss by a head.

He never runs you a bad race and last campaign was beaten under a length twice in Melbourne when the best horses were in town.

After the claim is down to 56kg where he hasn’t been for seven starts and 16 months.

Every little bit of extra distance is in his favour but the small field will mean he won’t get a long distance back.

The best of the day is a horse who runs again after a very solid effort in the Centaurea Stakes last week.

Held Hostage sat on the speed over the 2000m and swept to the front on the corner. She fought all of them off bar for Let’s Make Adeal who roared away.

Her record over this type of distance is very solid indeed including a win over the Flemington carnival last year.

She does look really well in at only 4.5kg over the limit.
