Vodnik has been racing in very good form of late and looks hard to go past once again at Doomben on Saturday.
The Bruce Hill-trained runner put two wins together in easier company before stepping up in grade to run a narrow second behind the impressive Artibai at this C/D last time out.
The lightly raced five-year-old is right down in the weights for this with only 54kg and on weight adjusted ratings looks hard to beat.
Vodnik (Race 2 #4) has now had the three runs over the trip, winning two of them and placing on the other occasion.
Scott Galloway stays on board and on what he has produced of late looms as the one they have to beat.
Best Of The Rest has had just the two runs for new yard and has won on both occasions, the most recent coming at this C/D.
He is sure to be very competitive once again and I would expect these two to be fighting out the finish and could be worth a quinella.
Giving plenty of weight to Vodnik however, Best Of The Rest would need to improve significantly again to be winning this.
Later in the day Lady Jetsetter (Race 4 #3) will look to continue her recent form, having won all three starts this campaign.
The Liam Birchly-trained runner has improved with every run this campaign and Travis Wolfgram who is undefeated from three rides will stay on board and claim 2kg as well.
The three-year-old filly is building an impressive career record and should not have any issues with the step up to 1110m today.
Would expect her to not be far away in the run from barrier 10 and she will be hitting the line strongly.
Expect the resuming Pienkna to jump the short priced favourite but at the current price of $7, Lady Jetsetter looks a very good price for a filly in good form of late.
Last weeks Doomben meeting was abandoned however two weeks ago saw the bet of the day Best Of The Rest salute with the each way play Jimmy Says Yes run a very close second at good odds.
