Maybe a few punters latched onto the suggested bets last week with the double we offered getting up.
At the time of publication the Melaleuca/Hucklebuck double was about 4-1 but both were well supported into as short as 10/9 on.
But we try again this week on the Parks track for what looks just a fair meeting.
Happy to have something on Brave Journey on Saturday in the 1000m sprint.
This mare had a great campaign last time which included three wins including a couple on the main track and in this company too.
One of the main factors in her favour is her record first up. In her last three resuming runs she has won by 5L, 3L & 1.8L.
Now while they’ve been on provincial courses, she showed last time in she could adapt to city racing. Keen on her.
Value runner on the card could be a horse who contested two Derbies last Autumn. Surging Wave has needed racing and finally gets to a staying trip.
He had two mile start to begin the prep and then was slowly out but made up good ground late at Cranbourne on Cup Day.
Maybe he is a horse who takes time to get fit because he came good third up in April before being thrown in the deep end at Randwick and Morphettville.
This is probably an easier race to the BM70 he ran in last start, carries the same weight and goes up in trip.
Reckon he might ease out to each way odds from the current price.
