Early mail and best exotic plays for Rosehill on November 16 from racing editor Chris Scholtz.
ROSEHILL SATURDAY
RACE 6 (2) MALAVIO: Returns to Sydney off a month freshen up after a luckless sixth in the G2 Crystal Mile at Moonee Valley where he was never on the track. His prior spring form in Sydney included a win in the G2 Tramway and a terrific effort to be beaten less than a length behind Boban when fifth in the G1 Epsom. That’s outstanding form for this class and he’s not badly treated after the claim for Lester Grace, especially when you take his excellent course and distance records into account.
RACE 7 (10) SPECIFIC CHOICE: Carried big support first-up over 1400m at this course and his backers were most unlucky not to collect as the ride got a big mention from the stewards after was badly held up and never tested. That came off two strong trials and with a sharp 2.5kg drop in weight looks very well placed to make amends for his last start.
RACE 8 (12) HUNTER JACK: Performed equally as well as Specific Choice when resuming in the same race at this course on November 2, running to the line strongly without ever getting fair galloping room. There’s good form around him in past preparations and he appeals as a worthy value gamble in an open race with the expected improvement from his last effort.
