Beirne Predicting Tight Thousand Guineas

Betfair racing Informer and revered form guru Dominic Beirne believes a just one-length will separate the top eight chances in tomorrow’s Thousand Guineas and is urging punters to think outside the square to identify value in the race.

In his exclusive preview of the 1600m Group 1 for three-year-old fillies, Beirne stops short of identifying a single standout horse, instead steering readers toward a number of value runners.

“The market may alter, but the value in the current market is in the top five saddlecloths,” says Dominic, pointing punters towards Dear Demi, Longport, Lady of Harrods, Maybe Discreet and Members Joy as win bet, or exotic propositions.

“It is safe to say that no runner this year has performed at the 1000 Guineas average rating. In fact, the highest performance ratings returned by this year’s contestants is well short. So, the race will either be low rating, which I am forecasting, or one runner will improve significantly.

“Based on the former of these two scenarios, we’ll search for value in a very open race, in which the finish will likely be very bunched.”

In his intriguing runner-by-runner analysis, Dominic Beirne presents cases for Dear Demi, which “boasts the two highest performance ratings in the race in winning the Furious Stakes and by running second to Pierro at group one level at this distance” and current $4.80 Betfair favourite Molto Bene who “put in two flashing light runs this prep and won the South Australian Sires Produce Stakes against the males at her second race start by three-lengths.”

Dominic has also identified a special at nice odds in one of the support races at Caulfield tomorrow.
