The 2024 Del Mar season is nearly over as they prepare for hosting the Breeders' Cup.
The highlight of the day was the Gr 1 Pacific Classic had early favourite Adare Manor scratched before the race and it then became much more open, with the final result being Mixto winning from Full Serrano and Reincarnate. The early second fav Dr Venkman ran fourth.
The Gr 3 Torey Pines went to the odds-on favourite Hope Road winning the 1600m race by 5 lengths to Baffert's Nothing Like You.
The Del Mar Handicap over 2800m turf saw Phil d'Amato runners finishing first and third – Gold Phoenix and Balnikov with Dicey Mo Chara the meat in the sandwich.
Another d'Amato winner came in the Gr 3 Green Flash with Motorious with Johnny Podres 12/1 second and No Nay Hudson third.
And the d'Amato treble came in the Del Mar Mile when Conclude won under Hector Berrios. Second went to Almendares 10/1 and Astronomer third on 8/1.
