And thanks for the memories
Sha Tin will be farewelling their wonder horse today in what is sure to be a very moving ceremony. The winner of 10 Group 1s in his 31 starts he's been wonderful to watch throughout his career and we wish him a very happy retirement.
The racing highlight of the day is the G3 Celebration Cup over 1400m with 7 starters. Chiu Chow Spirit seems to be working through the grades in fine style and we should see him in G1 races before long. He's odds-on for this with Badel riding for Man. We can't decide on second choice between Taj Dragon on 7.7 and Wonder Kit on 7.9. May be wise to just watch the betting and see if anything else is fancied.
The last race is the Class 2 Woodpecker over 1200m with 11 runners and here we see Copartner Prance resuming – he's on 2.3 with Zac Purton for Lui. John Size's Young Champion looks to be promising and jockey Karis Teetan says he's ready to go so 4.3 could be value. We are putting in Mark Newnham's Full Circle with Hewitson riding as he's got the lightest weight in the field and 7.0 is tempting.
