Runaway winners at York Thursday

The margin was 6 lengths in both the Middleton and the Dante!

The Middleton saw Ralph Beckett's Bluestocking under Rossa Ryan win by six lengths over Free Wind.  Unfortunately for us Sapphire Seas did not sparkle.

The Dante saw a huge finish by the William Haggas trained Economics under Tom Marquand as they came up the outside and just kept going further ahead.  Trainer William Haggas isn't convinced his horse is an Epsom horse but is not rejecting any plans for now,  Second home was Ancient Wisdom who fought on well to get that result and obviously will benefit from the run and War Rooms at 25/1 was third.

Friday's Yorkshire Cup is down to 6 runners for the G1 2800m contest and it looks like a battle of the Irish between the O'Brien Tower of London and the Mullins Vauban.  Tower of London looks the obvious choice as he has already posted wins in Riyadh and Meydan this calendar year and Vauban is having his first start since the Melbourne Cup 2023.  Mullins is planning to return to Melbourne this November and this is the first step along that road.  Tower of London will have Ryan Moore on board and is on 5/4, Vauban will have William Buick and they are on 7/2.
