Harmonya Maker reversed form with Hauturiere and Silent Approach to land the Grade 2 Carey Glass Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase at Thurles on Sunday.
Gordon Elliott's charge won at Gowran Park on chasing debut in November but could only find the placings behind the re-opposing Hauturiere and Silent Approach on her next two outings. Ridden by Jack Kennedy, the mare was always handy behind long-time leader Silent Approach and took to the front in the final straight. She held off a determined late charge from Hauturiere to take a first Graded success, with Silent Approach back in third.
Jockey Jack Kennedy said: "She threw her race away jumping left at Cork two runs ago – whatever that was about that day, but she jumped straight today.
"She had been disappointing in her last couple of runs but did what we had been expecting her to do all along.
"For whatever reason, she had been disappointing but it is great for her to put her best foot forward and is back to what we thought she'd be."
Paddy Power have shortened Harmonya Maker from 50/1 to 16/1 for the Mrs Paddy Power Mares Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
