The three metropolitan clubs in Melbourne have some late international nominations for their spring features.

Nominations for the Melbourne Cup, the Caulfield Cup and the Cox Plate closed last week with international numbers down due to pre-travel requirements and COVID playing a part.

But that has not stopped connections of two horses in the Melbourne Cup, two in the Caulfield Cup and three in the Cox Plate being late entries.

French galloper Glycon, trained by Jean Claude Rouget, has been nominated for all three races.

He was joined by Sir Lukan, a son of Camelot trained by Aidan O'Brien in the Melbourne Cup, but will be prepared by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott for his shot at the Cup.

The Roger Varian-trained Save A Forest joins Glycon in the Caulfield Cup while Joseph O'Brien has added State Of Rest to the Cox Plate list while Jessica Harrington has entered Cadillac.

State Of Rest is a northern hemisphere-bred son of Starspangledbanner and won the Grade 1 Saratoga Derby last Saturday while Cadillac, by Lope De Vega, finished ninth in that race.
