Happy Valley Wednesday

And some notes from trackwork at Sha Tin this morning. Firstly the card at Happy Valley concludes with 3 Class 3 races.

There's been a lot of rain lately in Hong Kong and there was drizzle but not too much of it this morning with a thunderstorm forecast for later in the day.

At HV Race 6 is the Dorset Handicap Class 3 where Douglas Whyte's mount Travel Guide is holding the call on 5.0 in a pretty open race. Sunny More and Xilai Xianzi are both on 6.4 and Flying Unicorn 9.0.

The St George's Challenge Cup is over 1200m with another Whyte ride My Goal on 3.7 and ticking many boxes particularly the draw. Zac Purton is on Turf Magic on 6.2, with Pocket Rockets 7.2, First in Command 7.6 and Bullish King who will probably lead a possible to stay on for a place at 12.0.

Race 8 has Cosmic Boom looking good here on 2.8 with Talley Close on 3.9 and Adoration 7.2 for another 1200m Cl. 3 race to end the program.

Pretty Quiet this morning at Sha Tin. Chinchon did the paddock school - merely a refresher course as he's been here before - and then light work on the AWT. Japanese runner Rulership did some nice work on the turf as did Viscount Nelson, with Kevin Shea in the irons.

Surprise attraction was African Prince, who will represent Godolphin in the Mile on Sunday week. He's a beautiful horse and looks to be adjusting very nicely to life in Hong Kong. He did some easy work on the AWT to get to know his surroundings but looked very composed.
