York starts Wednesday

The popular Ebor meeting gets underway early Thursday morning Australian Eastern time with a G3, a G2 and the Juddmonte G1 on the program.

There are 13 talented babies heading for the G3 Accomb Stakes for 2yos over 1400m. Several of these

have debut runs behind them so an upset would not surprise, but the UK Bookies are making Aiden

O'Brien's Furner's Green favourite at 7/2, with Balty Boys at 5/1 Entifaadah 11/2 and Zumbi 7/1.

The Great Voltiegeur is G2 for 3yos over 2400m with 8 to run, and this is seen as a great prep for the St

Leger, with last year's winner the lamented Rewilding going from here to Doncaster success. This year it

is one of the O'Brien entries Seville that ticks most of the boxes and he's priced accordingly at 11/10 but

we like him a lot. Sir Michael Stoute's Sea Moon will have Richard Hughes riding in the absence of Ryan

Moore, and Namibian is trained by Mark Johnston who usually does well at this meeting, is 4/1.

The Juddmonte has 6 runners and is over 2000m, with three of the horses coming from the O'Brien yard

and two from Sir Henry Cecil's. Await the Dawn will probably start odds-on but we are in the camp where

we think Midday, who has shown a liking for this track and a recent return to top form, a good chance to

score an upset. She's 5/2, and the other Cecil runners Twice Over is 9/2.
