While all the attention is focused on the Paris Olympics, to the North (and the East) racing continues.
At Deauville there is a G1 and 3 G3's to keep us busy. The G1 is the first of, the Prix Rothschild for f&m down the straight 1600m with 7 going to post. Heading these lovely ladies is Mqse de Sevigne, who won this last year and has two more G1s under her girth since then. She's on 10/11 for Fabre-Pouchin. Kelina and Irish Raider Rogue Millenium are both on 11/4.
The Prix de Cabourg is the first of the G3s and is over 1200m for the 2yos with 5 runners.
Where are all the horses? Have they gone to Versailles to watch the dressage? The beautifully bred Apollo Fountain is 7/4 for Fabre-Pouchin. She's by No Nay Never out of the Frankel mare Fount. Polyvega defeated Apollo Fountain by 2 ½ lengths on her debut and while AF has had another race since then (which she won). Guyon rides for Laffon-Parias. And she's by Lope de Vega.
The Prix de Psyche is for 3yo fillies and over 2000m and again a small field of 5. Rose Japipur is by our old friend Doctor Dino and on 7/4 for Devin-Guyon. Godolphin's Rock'n Swing is on 11/4 and Team Valor (with Aussie influence) has Irish raider Uluru
(JP O'Brien and Christophe Soumillon) on 9/2.
The Prix Six Perfections is for the 2yo fillies over 1400m on the round course. Chris Head and Lemaitre combine with Angeal, a daughter of Wooton Bassett who is two wins from two starts so far and is on 2/1. Relaxx is seen as the most likely challenger with the daughter of City Light on 10/3 for the Lerners and Ronan Thomas.
Over in Munich there's the G1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis over 2000m with 9 runners and here the fantastic Fantastic Moon is on top on 2/1 for Sara Steinberg and Rene Piecheluk. French raider Calif is 5/2 for the Lerners with Ado de Vries riding. Wintertraum is 4/1 for Hickst-Murzabayev and the only filly in the race Quantanamera is on 20/1 for Suborics-Boutin.
