Kikuka Sho weekend

It's the turn of the boys to go for a G1 in Kyoto on Sunday

But before that on Saturday we have the G2 Fiji Stakes at Tokyo.  It's over 1800m and the market is currently led up Soul Rush on 4.0 and he's also the top weight.  Quite open with next J Palms on 4.1 and Red Mon Reve 4.8 and he will probably be my pick. However the much-travelled Bathrat Leon is in this field and is returning to the turf after a couple of not very successful runs on the dirt.  If he is anything near his top form he could feature here but has to show this before our hard-earned goes on him – currently on 40.0.

Sunday's race is over 3000m for the 3yos and Danon Decile is on top on 2.0 following his win in the Tokyo Yushun (Derby).  However we have a slight preference for Urban Chic 5.2 who will be ridden by Christophe Lemaire.  He won the St Lite Kinen and is heading in the right direction.  Mirco Demuro has a ride on Cosmo Kuranda on 6.1 who was second in the St Lite and the only other runner in single figures is Meisho Tabaru on 8.0.

Looks like it is going to be hot in Tokyo and a bit cooler in Kyoto but both days should be good to go racing.
