Wednesday’s racing round-up includes the news of some exciting juvenile performances for owners Juddmonte and another big-race target for Fallen Angel…

Wathnan Racing have revealed their latest major purchase Fallen Angel will be aimed at the Prix de l'Opera on Arc day following her reappearance second behind Porta Fortuna in the Group 1 Matron Stakes last weekend. A winner of the Group 1 Moyglare and Irish 1,000 Guineas, Fallen Angel will tackle the ten-furlong trip for the first time if heading to the Prix de l'Opera.

Owners Juddmonte introduced an exciting juvenile when Cosmic Year made a visually striking debut in the Sir Michael Stoute – Farewell And Thank You Novice Stakes for trainer Harry Charlton and jockey Oisin Murphy at Sandown. A half-brother to Time Test, who won twice at Group 2 level for the same connections, Cosmic Year travelled powerfully in the hands of Oisin Murphy before quickening clear for an emphatic six-and-a-half length success from the odds-on favourite Rock d'Oro. Paddy Power introduced the winner at 33/1 for next year's 2000 Guineas market.

The Owen Burrows-trained Anmaat is being teed up to attempt to regain his Prix Dollar crown after sidestepping the Irish Champion Stakes. The Shadwell-owned four-year-old, who landed the prize two years ago, returned from a 439-day absence to land the Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock in early August. The Prix Dollar will take place at Longchamp over Arc weekend.

Marco Botti's star stayer Giavellotto looks likely to be given a break ahead of potential targets in the Middle East next year. The five-year-old, who recorded back-to-back Group 2 victories in the Yorkshire Cup and Princess of Wales's Stakes earlier this season, finished three lengths behind Kyprios in the Group 1 Irish St Leger at the Curragh on Sunday.
