Sixteen horses will go to post for the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after the Aidan O'Brien-trained Auguste Rodin and Luxembourg were removed at the declaration stage.
As revealed on Wednesday, Aidan O'Brien, who arrives in Paris in search of a third Arc, will launch a two-pronged attack spearheaded by Irish Derby hero and Great Voltigeur winner Los Angeles. Last year's Arc fifth and stablemate Continuous, who has been drawn out in stall fourteen, will also take his chance after finishing third in the Prix Foy last time. The former will be ridden by Ryan Moore, while the latter will continue his association with two-time Arc-winning rider Christophe Soumillon.
Connections Juddmonte will be hoping they can recoup some of the €120,000 they paid to add Bluestocking to the race at the supplementary stage on Wednesday. Ralph Beckett's Pretty Polly Stakes winner has been handed a favourable draw in stall three as she bids to follow up her latest Group 1 success in the Prix Vermeille. David Menuisier's Sunway, who was last seen finishing third in the St Leger Stakes at Doncaster, is the only other British-trained horse to feature in the sixteen-strong line-up.
Shin Emperor will be hoping to build on his eye-catching third in last month's Irish Champion Stakes as he attempts to become the first Japanese-trained winner of the Arc. There will also be a strong Japanese representation in the Al Riffa camp, with Joseph O'Brien's Grosser Preis von Berlin scorer set to be ridden by legendary Japanese jockey Yutaka Take for the first time. The son of Wootton Bassett will start from gate nine.
Andre Fabre's Grand Prix de Paris winner Sosie usurped Prix du Jockey Club hero Look De Vega at the head of the ante-post market in the Group 2 Prix Niel over course and distance last time and both stood their ground at Thursday's declarations. However, following some confident reports from the Look De Vega camp in recent days, Carlos and Yann Lerner's colt has now joined the former at the top of the betting. The pair have been handed favourable draws respectively in gates five and eight, while the latter will attempt to give jockey Ronan Thomas a first Arc success after he went agonisingly close on his debut ride on In Swoop four years ago.
The French maestro Andre Fabre will also be represented by Mqse De Sevigne and Sevenna's Knight as he bids to stretch his Arc-winning record to nine. Mqse De Sevigne has been handed the widest draw of all out in sixteen, while OTI's Sevenna's Knight will break from gate twelve under Mickael Barzalona as he drops back to a mile and a half for the first time since struggling in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.
Zarakem, Haya Zark, Fantastic Moon, Survie and Aventure completed the final field of sixteen.
