Nashwa is aiming to make her seasonal return in the Group 2 Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud (France) on Sunday 28 May.

Connections of Nashwa decided to skip the Group 2 Middleton Stakes at York on Thursday and are aiming for another trip to France to contest the Group 2 Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud on Sunday 28 May, run over 1 mile and 2½ furlongs.

The daughter of Frankel only had one outing at two before enjoying an excellent Classic season last year. She recorded a pair of wins in April and May before a solid third in the Group 1 Epsom Oaks. Nashwa justified favouritism to land the Group 1 Prix de Diane (French Oaks) at Chantilly and followed up at the top-level at Goodwood in the Nassau Stakes. She recorded an excellent second in the Group 1 Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp on 'Arc' weekend in October and ended the season with a fourth at the Breeders' Cup meeting in America at Keeneland.

The Imad Al Sagar owned filly holds Group 1 entries this campaign in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, the Pretty Polly at the Curragh (Ireland) and the Eclipse at Sandown Park in July.

Al Sagar's racing manager, Lord Grimthorpe, explained much will depend on her return run.

"She just hasn't quite come," he said. "She worked nicely on Saturday morning and I think we will probably try to head for the Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud at the end of the month.

"Obviously, that will give us a good guide as to where we're at and if she looks good enough and is in good enough form, I'm sure Imad would like to go to the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot."

Four-year-olds have a strong recent record in the Prix Corrida with seven wins from the last ten renewals.
