Tip Of The Day: 27th October

The team return with two selections over jumps on Sunday from Aintree and Wincanton…

Today's horse racing tips

Ahoy Senor gets the nod returning to his favourite course in the 2m4f Grade 2 Virgin Bet Old Roan Limited Handicap Chase (13:50) at Aintree.

Historically, Lucinda Russell's gelding has made his seasonal reappearance at either Cheltenham or Wetherby – Sunday represents a different proposition altogether, having posted figures of 1-1-3-2-2 around the Liverpool course. He goes well fresh, with victories both of his first outings back in 2022 and 2023.

Good ground will suit, and Lucinda Russell arrives here in scintillating form on the back of posting three winners at Kelso on Saturday. From a course form angle, Ahoy Senor should be up to the task.

AHOY SENOR – EACH WAY – 6/1

There may be some value about My Silver Lining in the 3m2f My Pension Expert Handicap Chase (15:15) at Wincanton.

Emma Lavelle's charge appears to have some of the best form in the book here, having landed the Grade 3 Classic Chase at Warwick in January. She followed this up with laudable placed efforts in the Haydock Grand National Trial and the Midlands National at Uttoxeter, proving her credentials over a stamina test.

The eight-year-old loves Wincanton, with an unblemished two-from-two record at the Somerset track. Conditions ought to be of no great concern having made a winning seasonal  reappearance at the course last year in good conditions.

If she can hit the ground running this season and keep progressing, My Silver Lining looks overpriced at 4/1.

MY SILVER LINING – WIN – 4/1
