Jockeys report to the media post running of the QEII Stakes.
1st – Win Bright – Masami Matsuoka
“He didn’t jump well from the gate but he gets a good spot. He ran very well all the way around. He galloped very well on Wednesday morning, clocking a very fast time, so the record time wasn’t unexpected. This is the very best day for me.”
2nd - Exultant - Zac Purton
“It was a very good run, a great effort.”
3rd - Lys Gracieux - Oisin Murphy
“A huge run from my filly and the winner got a very good ride.”
4th - Glorious Forever - Derek Leung
“He ran super. He switched off well for me but the winner was too good.”
5th - Pakistan Star - Matthew Chadwick
"A lovely run. He probably hit the front too soon and just idled a bit."
6th – Deirdre – Yutaka Take
“She was in a good form today. Didn’t get gate speed today despite I want to get a more forward position. She accelerated very well in the straight but it was same turn of foot as the winner.”
7th - Dark Dream - Tim Clark
“I had a nice run and he battled away ok.”
8th – Dinozzo - Vincent Ho
“He had a good position but was just a bit flat in the straight.”
9th - Eagle Way - Umberto Rispoli
“I’m a little bit disappointed. He tracked Exultant all the way but just didn't give me the same kick as last time.”
10th - Furore - Hugh Bowman
“Too close.”
11th - Time Warp - Karis Teetan
“He had to make up ground on the outside to get handy and it seemed too much for him.”
12th – Waikuku – Joao Moreira
“He was disappointing. He was three wide and caught a check and couldn't bring his best today.”
13th – Eminent – James McDonald
“He's a tricky one and he's got me beat. I don't know how he could run so well first up in Australia and then put two ordinary performances like that in. It just feels like he's not trying.”
